In its 20th year the Rotary Clubs of Liverpool will be presenting the 2018 Combined Rotary Clubs of Liverpool Police Officer of the Year Awards.  Our winning officers from 2017 were Detective Senior Constable Jason Dack (Left) and Detective Senior Constable Marco Buttigieg (Right). These officers were outstanding in their commitment to the community and operate like all police under some very difficult circumstances.

This event continues to attract a large number of nominations for Police Officers from both Liverpool and Green Valley Local Area, under the Liverpool command, and it is interesting to note both areas have different challenges.  Liverpool Police Officer of the Year awards are an integral part of the Liverpool Social calendar, with The Police Hierarchy giving the event one hundred percent support.

Sponsorship from our Local Business’, over the past eighteen years has helped to make this recognition of Police Officers from Green Valley and Liverpool Local Area Commands, the outstanding success it has become.  The Liverpool Police Officer of the Year awards were commenced in 1999, when Superintendent Bob McMahon requested the local Rotary Clubs introduce these awards to Liverpool.

Presentation evening will be held at the Liverpool Catholic Club on Tuesday 4th September, 2018 and once again we expect the elite of the newly amalgamated two Commands to be recognized, and then their nominations to be sent onto the NSW Police Officer of the Year Awards in November.

With the support of the Local Area Commander’s, we have found that this evening truly recognized the local Officers for their outstanding efforts, as the awards are now in their 19th year, they are a great encouragement for all Officers keeping law and order in Liverpool, Green Valley and the surrounding areas.  The Presentation Night now hosts up to 300 guests, from the Police Hierarchy, Federal, State and Local Politicians, Business Leaders, Community Groups and Local Residents attending.
